Lessons are available with owner, Tara McShane. Tara has been riding since she was 8 years old and was a member of Frederick Pony Club for many years. She has trained with many local dressage and event trainers and enjoys training and showing at the lower levels of dressage and eventing. Tara's focus with her students is always safety first and she prides herself on making her students feel comfortable and not pushing them outside their comfort levels until they are ready. Lessons are available on one of four lesson horses, including a small pony perfect for little ones to learn on, and trailer in lessons are welcome as well. Tara, as well as her students, attend many local dressage and hunter shows, and horse trials throughout the year. Dog Tired Farm also offers numerous horse camps throughout the year which include riding, fun activities as well as educational activities.

One hour private lesson :$60
One hour semi-private lesson: $55
1/2 Hour Lesson: $50

LESSON POLICIES:
Monthly lessons are paid for at the beginning of each month.
2. Lessons that are stormed out (rain, thunder, etc) are subject to becoming a “ground lesson” in the barn, and count as a lesson from your package. This is up to instructor’s discretion. Remember that 10% of being an equestrian is spent in the saddle, the other 90% is at the barn.
3. LESSONS DO NOT ROLL OVER AND ARE ONLY GOOD FOR THE MONTH YOU HAVE PAID FOR.
4. NO SHOWS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. ANY MORE THAN ONE NO SHOW WILL RESULT IN REMOVAL FROM LESSON PROGRAM.
5. You are required to get to your lesson at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson time so that you on your horse ready to ride at your designated lesson time. If you are not on your horse at scheduled time, your lesson time will be reduced accordingly.

3. Riders with long hair must have it contained in a pony tail or braid while riding.

- If you need to reschedule your lesson, it must be made up within the same month. We DO NOT offer make up lessons for lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice or no shows. If we have to cancel due to instructor conflict or bad weather, make up lesson with be within same month. This applies to months of March-December.

- An ATSM/SEI Certified Helmet -one can be provided for new students FOR ONE MONTH ONLY THEN YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE YOUR OWN HELMET AND IT MUST FIT CORRECTLY.
